Listed

The substance is on the Union list today, with its FL number and whatever the regulation attaches to it: a purity specification, restrictions on use by food category, and the regulation that last amended the entry.

Withdrawn

The substance appeared in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 872/2012, which adopted the Union list, and has since been removed. 78 substances are in that position. A lookup that reported them as simply absent would hide a fact worth knowing, so they come back marked withdrawn.

No entry

We hold no record of the substance on the Union list. This is not a finding that it is unauthorized in the EU. The Union list covers flavouring substances. It does not cover flavouring preparations, thermal process flavourings, smoke flavourings or flavour precursors, and a substance may be lawful in the EU under another instrument entirely.
