Capability
The raw-material database beverage R&D actually needed
Cultivar-level chemistry, sensory, and regulatory data for teas, herbal botanicals, functional mushrooms, and matcha grades. Every asserted range traces back to a cited source.
What's inside
Four subclasses with the fields each one actually cares about. Not a generic ingredient list.
Tea cultivars
Camellia sinensis at the cultivar level (Assam TV17, Yabukita, Long Jing, Da Hong Pao, Ceylon, Darjeeling, and more). Caffeine, L-theanine, catechins, EGCG, tannin and essential-oil ranges. Oxidation, leaf grade, form, terroir.
Matcha grades
Ceremonial, culinary, and ingredient-grade profiles. Shade-growing metadata, tencha cultivar, particle-size expectations, and the theanine/catechin shift that shading produces.
Herbal & wellness botanicals
Hibiscus, rooibos (red and green), chamomile, tulsi, peppermint, chicory, dandelion, ginger, cinnamon, tumeric, and dozens more. Active constituent ranges (anthocyanins, aspalathin, eugenol, menthol) with citations.
Functional mushrooms
Lion's Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps militaris, Chaga, Turkey Tail. Beta-glucan, triterpene, hericenone, cordycepin ranges. Fruiting body vs. mycelium distinctions surfaced explicitly, because it matters.
Cite-or-omit
Every asserted chemistry range carries a source URL. Fields we can't source stay blank. Better to render an em-dash than fabricate a number a chemist would call out.
Grounded in public sources
PubChem, FooDB, NIH DSLD, FDA GRAS notices, and peer-reviewed literature. Every variety detail page lists the specific URLs that back its numbers.
Similar varieties, computed
Every variety carries a top-N nearest-neighbor list within its subclass, ranked by chemistry-distance with sensory-tag overlap as tiebreaker. Substitute discovery without guesswork.
Certification-aware
USDA Organic, Regenerative Organic, OU Kosher, Gluten-Free, Non-GMO, and Vegan flags at the variety level. Filter to the certifications your blend requires.
Who it's for
Tea & beverage R&D
Blend design, sourcing decisions, and cultivar substitution when a supplier line goes down.
Functional & wellness formulators
Structure/function claims that need real active-constituent numbers, not extract vendor marketing copy.
Regulatory & quality teams
One reference surface across FEMA, CAS, GRAS status, and cert flags. Every claim links out to the underlying source.
See it against your live blends
The Botanical Library ships alongside the rest of the Ambrose Cloud toolset. Book a 30-minute walkthrough and we'll run it against varieties your team is actively working with.
